Malfunction of electric train, series 412/416, caused by brake operation and proposal of remedial measures

Realization: 2007

A cause of the problem related to operation of these electric train brakes was identified. For the first time in this region it was proved experimentally and theoretically that cracks in bogie frames and in holders of BCR brake blocks were produced by self-excited oscillations in the contact area between wheels and brake shoes, which was not considered in the vehicle development.
